1. The Lottery will operate as a Small Lottery as defined by the Gambling Act 2005 and is registered with North Somerset Council, licence no. NSC/025930.

2. The object of the Lottery is to raise funds for MARLENS to secure, preserve, protect, develop and improve Clevedon Marine Lake and its surrounding area.

3. The Lottery shall be administrated by the Trustees of Marine Lake Enthusiasts (MARLENS) which is a registered charity no. 1156426. The Trustees shall have the power to amend or revoke these rules at their absolute discretion with such reasonable notice to the Lottery members as is necessary.

4. The Lottery is open to anyone over 16 years of age. Please complete the application form on the Clevedon Marine Lake web site (or if you prefer you can download and print the form and post it to Marlens). You are then eligible for inclusion in the Lottery draw, so long as the subscription for the month has been received by the last working day of that month.

5. The subscription to the Lottery for one number is payable by standing order for £5 per month or £60 per year, payable in advance. You are responsible for setting up your standing order. Alternatively, you may send us a £60 cheque or make a bank transfer of £60 and tell us that you have done so. Your number will be in each monthly draw as long as your subscription is up to date. You can pay for more than one number if you wish.

6. The Lottery will be run on a rolling monthly basis. You may enter the Lottery at any time of year.

7. Marlens lottery records will hold your name, address, telephone number and email address, together with your lottery number and the money received. We need this information to run the lottery and send you your winnings. If you want to contact the lottery administrator please email lottery@marlens.org.uk

8. The draw for each month will be made within the following month in the presence of at least three people including one Trustee. The monthly prize fund will be around 50% of monthly income, so prizes will grow (or shrink) with the number of members. For example, the prize money for the December 2020 draw on Saturday 9th January was:     1st Prize = £165  2nd Prize = £85   3rd Prize = £45

9. Prize winners will be notified by post with a cheque. Prize winners will be listed on the Clevedon Marine Lake website each month after the draw. They may also be published in the press and social media.

10. All winners will be contacted using the contact details provided on the Application Form, so please advise any subsequent change of details. All reasonable efforts will be made, but if a winner cannot be contacted, the winnings will be placed into MARLENS funds after 6 months.

Note: Paid-up members of Marlens Lottery will be voting members of Marlens Charity unless they decline this on the membership form.
